Name of the book: Aristotle and Dante Discover The Secrets of the Universe
Author: Benjamin Alire Sàenz
My Rating: 5/5
I picked this book up because I'd seen it around on Bookstagram. It turned out to be one of the best books for 2019 and also my pick for #pridemonth.
The book revolves around the lives of Aristotle and Dante (mostly Aristotle) and how they go about discovering themselves. Something about this book was magical and I couldn't help but complete it well within 24 hours. The writing style is phenomenal and it hardly feels like you're reading a book. For me, this book visualized every single sentence and I could watch it in my head.
Aristotle is the kind of character we rarely read about. He's a fit as well as a misfit. He's fiercely loyal and he's a good kid. He loves his parents and isn't shy about letting others know that he wouldn't do drugs or drink or kiss girls just because it's cool. Somehow, you'll feel Aristotle's anger over the world and the fact that boys are stupid.
Dante is a breath of fresh air. Dante hates shoes and you'll find yourself loving him for that. He's the sweetest character in the book (with the exception of Legs of course). He hardly hesitates from people letting know how he feels. He's the bravest guy in this book.
The book talks about important issues in the simplest manner.
Just pick this book up you guys? You'll love it!
